Maria Fernanda Hernandez

Biography

María Fernanda joined Liberation Law Group, PC in July 2020. She is from Costa Rica.

María Fernanda from adolescence had the opportunity to work in community projects with populations in greater socioeconomic vulnerability, which allowed her to develop a high commitment to justice and equity. She has worked as a volunteer in activities to help and empower immigrants and refugee applicants in Costa Rica. In activities such as job fairs and entrepreneurships, under the auspices of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). ​

She was part of the consulting team of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO-CR) in the project on Gender equality policies of the National Institute for Women (INAMU), associated with the new Policy on Violence Against Women.

She recently conducted research on the treatment that the media gives Nicaraguan immigrants in Costa Rica. Research carried out on discrimination and xenophobic roots in Costa Rica in Political Communication.

María Fernanda has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the International University of the Americas (UIA) and a postgraduate degree in Political Communication from FLACSO-CR. In her spare time she enjoys playing the guitar, reading and sharing with her family.
